Hua Hin for Beaches near Bangkok

Listed under Beaches in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Hua Hin is ideal if you are visiting Bangkok and want to spend a few days at the beach without having to fly somewhere. Hua Hin has the beaches but also is close to national parks for those who enjoy nature and natural surroundings. There are also quite a number of very interesting temples in the Hua Hin area including those at Phetchaburi. The night markets and restaurants of Hua Hin are very popular. Plenty of golf courses and other sports and some truly excellent beach resorts and beach hotels. Spas are also very popular. Some of the top places to stay are the Chiva Som, Sofitel, Sheraton Hua Hin, Hilton, Marriott and the Dusit Thani.

Best Beach Near Bangkok

We have travelled to many places in Thailand over the years and have seen so many changes. Our recent trip took us to Bangkok and Chiang Mai and then we wanted to stay at a beach near Bangkok to relax. Friends in Australia had recommended Hua Hin as it was near to Bangkok with a pleasant beach and also was a very nice place to visit.

We ordered a taxi from our hotel in Bangkok and took a pleasant drive down to Hua Hin. Our hotel was the Sofitel Centara. We had already seen the photos but this was far better than we had imagined.

The Sofitel Hua hin was marvelous. The beach was pleasant with soft clean sand and it was a very relaxed and friendly place. We walked into the town centre in the veening and enjoyed plenty of nice restaurants inclduing seafood on the pier restaurants.

The night market was fun, lots of things to buy or just browse. Cheap, and a very relaxed friendly atmosphere. No one was pushing us to buy things.

We spent a day in the national park which was lovely. Although only a few days we fell in love with the relxed style of Hua Hin and it felt so much more like Thailand than so many of the more commercial beach places we have visited.

We had a ride on a rickshaw around town and when we visited restaurants along the beach the Hua hin tuk tuks were cheap and friendly. Lovely beach restaurants to relax in the cool of the evenings. The Sasi Dinner and Thai Show was very good indeed.

Lovely stay and we have already planned to go back to Hua Hin for 10 days in July.
