The rounded dunes here get up to 30 metres high before breaking like waves over the flats of the beach and into the turquoise coloured water, and as the waves and wind come in from the other direction the conditions are perfect for surfing.

This stretch of coast is some of the cleanest in the Med, though the look is very Caribbean, if you replaced the huge old Juniper trees with palms. As well as an idyllic look, this beach is right beside the remaining ruins of an ancient Phoenician city, and an island you can only get to by wading though the waters. There's also a rather nice beach restaurant, windsurf hire and a diving school.
