In modern day Point Pleasant, West Virginia, the Virginian Militia was attacked by American Indian troops. A long battle ensued and when it was all over the Virginian Militia signed a treaty with the Native Americans here.
Here you can visit this historic place and feel what it was like to be on the battlefield. There is an elegant shrine to commemorate the lives lost here on both sides. The battle took place right on the banks of the Ohio River and will be remembered as one of the first battles fought during the Revolution. This fact is celebrated in Point Pleasant every year during “Battle Days”.
