The Fiske Planetarium and Sommers Bausch Observatory bring the immense knowledge and research collected by the University of Colorado in Boulder to more than 25,000 local and international visitors annually. The Fiske Planetarium, one of the United States’ largest planetariums, teaches guests about astronomy and space science. Friday nights from January through May, the facility is free and open to the public. Twice monthly the planetarium features offbeat laser shows performed to music ranging from U2 to Led Zeppelin.

At the Sommers Baush Observatory, visitors can peer deeper into space thanks to the facility’s 24” diameter telescope, retractable roof, 16” and 18” computer-controlled telescopes and other solar viewing equipment.

With discovery and education central to the missions of both Fiske Planetarium and Sommers Bausch Observatory, the University of Colorado in Boulder and these facilities are an ideal family destination.
