Black Madonna at Częstochowa

Listed under Arts in Poland.

The Black Madonna with her dark, fleur de lys patterned robes, bright gold halo and babe like a small man, is Poland’s most holy relic and icon.

Its story says it was painted by St. Luke on the top of a cypress table belonging to the Holy Family.
