Situated on the borders between North and South Carolina, Carowinds is home to many roller coasters, children's rides, and a water park. The Carolina Cyclone, a steel coaster with two loops and two inversions, sends riders on a thrilling trip through the air and super-fast speeds. For those who are seeking thrills and huge drops, the Drop Zone Stunt Tower has a 100-foot drop toward earth. For children, Carowinds created Nickelodeon Central, a section of the park with children's Nickelodeon-themed rides. Kids will love The Flying Dutchman's Revenge, a Spongebob Squarepants-themed amusement ride. Alongside the amusement park, Carowinds is also home to Boomerang Bay Water Park, that features water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool, new for 2008.
