Jiddu Krishnamurti was born in India in 1895 and at the age of 14 was announced to be a pre-ordained teacher and representative of Buddha on earth, but as a young adult, he renounced his national as well as his religious identity and began to travel the world, becoming a celebrated teacher of non-religious, spiritual philosophy. His belief that the truth of self-discovery could only be found through experiences, relationships and self-questioning, and not through religious instruction or philosophical or psychological knowledge is the force behind his foundation, established in 1968 with the aim of keeping his ideas alive for posterity. The associated centre is designed, therefore, as a retreat within which the exploration of your own ideas and experiences can come to fruition.

Visitors can stay for as much as two weeks or just a day or two; you can schedule a theme weekend or a study retreat to commence with an introduction to Krishnamurti’s life and teachings, followed by more in-depth discussions with like-minded participants or hours spent meditating and enjoying the restful Hampshire countryside.
