Whenever I thought about my perfect holiday destination, Thailand was always catching my eye, not just because of its immense natural and cultural beauties, but because it offers a bunch of attractions and experiences for everyone. So, while I was looking for a place in Thailand to satisfy my interests and expectations, I realized that Koh Lipe, a small island in Satun Province of Southwest Thailand is just what I need. This idyllic island is bordered with white-sand beaches which soak into the translucent Andaman Sea full of tropical fish, what particularly delighted me, since I enjoy diving and swimming. It was a Green season (June) when I was coming to Koh Lipe, so I embarked a floating platform in Pak Bara which drove me to Sunrise Beach laden with colourful fishing boats and waterside bungalows.

I stayed in a Sea View cottage located a step away from vibrant Walking Street, where you can find anything from Thai food stands and thatched-roof crafty shops to classic restaurants and bars. The island is pretty quiet, so I liked that I could sunbathe and swim without choking in the crowd. I swapped a dancing until the dawn for relishing evening drinks on the beach with people I met in the resort, and I really enjoyed it.

Apart from spending my time relaxing on the beach and exploring the island coast by walk, I also took an exciting kayak drive to the deserted beaches of nearby Koh Adang. Even though it took less than an hour to reach Adang, I had a few difficult moments, due to an extremely hot weather. One of unforgettable experiences was definitely diving with Adang Sea Divers during which I explored shallow coral reefs of impressive Tarutao National Marine Park with experienced diving instructors. Although I have dived before, I booked a Dive Experience Package, which turned out to be pretty useful because I discovered new scuba diving techniques. Thanks to its tranquil but exotic beach ambient, relaxing vibe, hospitable people, and especially amazing diving sites, Koh Lipe gradually became one of the best destinations I’ve ever visited.
