Graceful and soothing to watch, tai chi is even better for you if you take part - if you’re in Hong Kong and you already know the moves there are a lot of places where it’s socially acceptable to just join in, some of the main venues are Victoria Park, the Botanical Gardens and Hong Kong Park in Admiralty (but in the early mornings you can find people doing it all over the city.).

If you haven’t tried it before there are a couple of places which cater for beginners. In front of the Chinese Museum of Art on Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon is one of those spots. Free lessons are given in English between 8 and 9AM, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - or you can get up early and watch.
