Home swapping is becoming a more popular way to take your family away during the credit crunch. Trade houses with a similar family in another country and you’ll have all the comforts of someone else’s home while you’re away from yours - and you’ll only need to pay for flights and stock the fridge (though there are stories of some families helping out there as well.).
But what if you prefer to travel via motorhome? No worries, a new website has been set up where you can swap motorhomes instead. First things first – in the US they call them R.V.s, and in Australia they're still called Campervans – but once these small cultural details are cleared up, then the same principle applies: Like minded people fill in online forms about themselves, their motorhomes, and a few of the local highlights you can get to by car, and a trade or barter is arranged. You’re allowed to be picky about whether or not you want to welcome smokers, pets, little kids, or music festival goers into your motorhome then it’s up to you to give details about where you’d like to go on your swap.
If you’re already a motorhome owner and enthusiast you’ll know the joys of life on the road – this just makes it easier to travel further.
