“Íshestar Riding Tours has been a leading, fully licensed tour operator for 26 years. Their tours introduce the traditional way of travelling in Iceland and support nature, culture and the economy of each district they cover.”
Íshestar has been a leading tour operator since 1982 and they have always given absolute priority to quality and safety. They place great emphasis on sustainable tourism offering quality tours in the unspoiled nature of their country. With their green Globe 21-certificate they continue to handle their country's nature in a responsible manner.
Íshestar Riding Tours operates a variety of day tours, training and riding lessons both for experienced and for less experienced riders, all year long. Íshestar's programme has something for every taste. The multi-day tours require good riding skills and knowledge of horses, while the shorter tours departing from their Riding Centre, are well suited for people with little or no riding experience. Thus everyone has an opportunity to experience the nature of Iceland in the exquisite company of men and horses.
Ishestar's tours in the countryside lead through fertile farmlands, taking in the many special highlights in the landscape. On the popular Golden Circle you will ride to the Geysir hot spring area and Gullfoss Waterfall. The tour Trail of Hope in the North offers a great variety of riding tracks and a bus tour through the central highlands. Four days riding on the beach of Snæfellsnes is an adventure not to be missed! If you can only spend a few days riding an Icelandic horse, Ishestar's two to four day riding tours make the most of your time. In September and October you can participate in the rounding up of sheep and horses.
In addition they offer multi day Highland riding tours leading into spectacular areas and scenery.
Horse riders of any age from beginners to the very experienced.
