“Go walkabout in the spectacular Flinders Ranges and experience the Australian outback through the storytelling culture of the Aboriginal people. Bookabee’s indigenous guides share the history of this spectacular region, for a few hours or a few days, explaining ancient rock art sites, leading bush tucker foraging expeditions and sharing a yarn round the campfire.”
South Australian outback and Adelaide
Bookabee is owned and run by an Aboriginal family who have belonged to this land for generation upon generation. Because of that age old connection they’re able to offer a unique insight into the land though the creation stories passed down along an unbroken community lineage. Stories are told in context and guides accompany guests to ancient rock art sites where the symbols in the art are explained, on gathering expeditions collecting good bush tucker and share yarns around the campfire. On longer trips guests are able to visit a modern Aboriginal community.
Bookabee’s small group and personalised tours can be a couple of hours in Adelaide to week long journeys into the South Australian outback.
