Nadia Le Bon, Director of Special Programs, Mountain Travel Sobek
Ms. Le Bon was born and raised in Milan, Italy. During her college years, she started hiking and climbing in the Alps, and soon started traveling the world, eventually leaving a real job for guiding treks in the Himalayas. In 1983 she organized the first Italian women-only climbing expedition to the Indian Himalaya. The next year, she moved to California and joined Mountain Travel. For the last 20 years, Ms. Le Bon has been involved in many aspects of the company, from managing the entire MTS operations and scouting new trips to promoting the company through various media channels. She has traveled to all seven continents(over 60 countries), explored remote mountain regions, and kayaked spectacular places of the world. Ms. Le Bon is a member of the Society
of Woman Geographers, an exclusive group of women interested in the pursuit of geography-related issues. Her favorite activities include hiking, kayaking, sailing, and making new friends.
