Turbulence Angels
The Turbulence Angels are a team of female kitesurfers from North Wales, formed in December 2005 with the aim of promoting kite sports to women. They have hosted numerous events throughout the UK giving free powerkite lessons, demonstrations and advice clinics to women.
The Angels
Johara Sykes-Davies:
Johara has been a water and snow baby from the start so knew she had found her passion when she discovered kitesurfing. She finished 2nd overall in the British Kitesurf Association Amateur circuit in 2006 and now competes on the Pro circuit. Her other passion is to kite as many new spots on water and snow across the world as she can.
Zoë Burgess:
Zoë started kiting on the land kite buggying and then progressed onto the water. She is a real freeride queen. Any good kite conditions get her hyped, whether it is flat water to perfect her jumping and rotations or ripping up the waves on her wave board!
Sheryl Confue:
Sheryl’s background is in climbing and kayaking, so she has a super powerful kiting style. She got into kiting on a landboard then onto the water. She has now started competing on the British Kitesurfing Association Amateur tour so watch this space!
