I'm 34 years old, have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree, work for a Fortune 500 Company in Corporate Accounting, and live in South Georgia of the good ole US of A. I am divorced and have a 5 year-old daughter.
I maintain a website related to all my cave diving trips and information at www.cavedivingrocks.com
I was open water certified in 1990, but didn't begin diving regularly until the Summer of 1996. During the time between 1996 and 1999, I worked toward my Master Scuba Diver & Dive Master Certifications, which included nitrox training. In Dec 1999, I received my Cavern training. In Aug 2000, I took Intro To Cave. In Aug 2001, I took Apprentice and Full-Cave over two weekends. On 10/16/04, I qualified for the Abe Davis & Bronz Wakulla Awards for 100 safe cave dives/100 hrs cave diving bottom time Abe Davis. I became certified in Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures on 12/11/04 and Full-Trimix on 5/15/05. I was certified as an International Underwater Cave Rescue & Recovery Diver (IUCRR) on 5/28/06.
On average, I get to the North Florida caves to make a dive just about every other weekend. When I'm not cave diving, I'm often lurking and posting on www.cavediver.net. My handle is "aw".
I am a member of the NSS-CDS and DAN (being covered by their Preferred Diver Insurance). In addition, I am a member of the Adopt-A-Cave Program at Peacock Springs State Park in Florida. I adopted 50 ft of cave passage in the deep section (165 ft deep) of Lower Lower Orange Grove Sink.
I do some very low-volume garage gas mixing of nitrox, trimix, and deco bottles at home. I am self-taught in sidemount, drysuit, scooter/DPV, survey, photography, and stage diving.
Some desires I have next for cave diving include traveling to Bahamas and the Yucatan Peninsula. I am also very interested in exploring virgin underwater caves anywhere for the purpose of survey, cartography, videography, natural resource utilization, and dive site access.
In addition to cave diving, I enjoy amateur sand sculpting at the beach. Here are some things I've carved. www.funsandcastles.com
