Where's Hot in February?Some people will tell you that the ski slopes are hot in February, but there's nothing quite like some serious sunshine to make you feel like you're on holiday…and maybe a beach to lie on and an ocean to paddle your feet in …and you're not going to get that at Chamonix in February! February is the southern hemisphere's last month of summer, and the Christmas holiday school kid crowds have departed from the beaches of Australia and South Africa, leaving Bondi and Fourth Beach with empty, prime waterfront real estate, perfect for impromptu February holidays. New Zealand attracts the endless summer lovers in February - when the water has warmed up under all that glorious sunshine. February is the best time of year for active types as well as beach bums - kayakers and trekkers will be able to sleep out in the open under clear, star filled skies. If you like your destinations exotically tropical as well as hot, Fiji will be near the top of your list, and February is the perfect time to luxuriate amongst the lush, beach side foliage of Taveuni, or live it up in the spa resort on Turtle Island. Plan your February holidays here for the beaches, but stay for the snorkelling. If an island sounds about right for your February holidays check out Cape Verde - romantic for people inclined to whisk their lover away for a hot Valentines treat. For something a little different, February is also a great time of year for visiting Japan, it may not have a string of perfect beaches, but you can warm up in one of the many hot springs if the sun goes behind a cloud. Other destinations in east Asia are good too, such as Cambodia. Around the other side of the world, South America begins to hit its stride in February, and Brazil and Chile and its islands are enjoying near perfect weather to go with their great beaches. I have just booked to go to Sri Lanka for February on Orchids & Temples an orchid painting course combined with trips to a rainforest & ancient budhist temples & tea plantations. the weather is supposed to be fantastic 28c www.paintsrilanka.com I cant wait. I am also going to stay in a wonderfull beach villa on the stunning southern coast for 2 weeks, then I am off to Kandy to see the relic of Buddha's tooth in Kandy.
I'm looking to take my father away for his 60th somewhere warm/hot, maybe a city break or a weeks holiday in need of some ideas.
