Top Places to Get Festive This Year
Christmas isn't far away but don't worry – if you still need to get into the holiday spirit, we've compiled a list of the most festive places to visit in the UK.
1. Chalet Chic in London
If the grey streets of London aren't jolly enough for you, pop into The Montague on the Gardens Hotel for festive cocktails in their ski lodge bar. The hotel's pop-up rooftop bar has an après-ski theme, complete with skis, snow and pine trees.
2. Buy Gifts in Bath
The Christmas market in Bath is the perfect place to find gifts. If you're looking to make a weekend of it, read this festive road trip guide by Hertz – its itinerary takes you from London, to Salisbury, to Bath and back again, taking in all sorts of festive activities along the route.
3. Pick Up a Tree at Newbury
Another one of Hertz's suggestions – if you're driving from Bath to London, make a stop at the Newbury Christmas Tree Farm and wander round their plantation of sustainable trees. If you've got room in the car, you could also choose one to take home.
4. The Snowman in London
It might make you cry, but it will definitely make you feel Christmassy – go and see live version of The Snowman at The Peacock Theatre. Click here for tickets. Or alternatively Hertz have given a rundown on other top places to visit in London this Christmas
5. Family Fun in Cheshire
At Tatton Park in Cheshire, kids will be able to meet Father Christmas and his live reindeer. Plus, live farm animals will star in the Park's traditional nativity play. Click here for dates and times.
6. Santa's House in Cornwall
Soak up the festive atmosphere at The Eden Project, which will play host to live choirs and an ice rink during the Christmas season. Father Christmas will also be in residence – you'll find him in his house, reading children's stories to visitors.
7. Christmas Magic in Leavesden
Harry Potter fans can't fail to feel festive at 'Hogwarts in the Snow'. Walk the streets of Hogsmeade, enjoy a delicious Butterbeer and see Christmas decorations and props from the films.
8. Icy Cool in Liverpool
Wrap up warm but make sure you look glamorous, or you won't fit in with the locals at Liverpool ONE's Ice Bar. The bar, part of The Ice Festival, is sculptured entirely from ice - very cool, in more ways than one.
9. Lego Fun at Windsor
Children can enjoy all the usual rides at Legoland, with added Christmas magic. Visit Santa's grotto, where each child will get to meet Santa and take home a lego gift.
10. Royal Christmas in Brighton
The Royal Pavilion in Brighton is going all out this year – visitors can go on a festive tour of the palace (and are encouraged to dress up for the occasion), meet Father Christmas and skate on the ice rink.
