March Festival Madness

Written by  larapiegeler

In March the eclectic Spring Music Festival takes place in the Art-Nouveau fairytale city of Budapest offering a huge selection of indoor and outdoor concerts. You'll find classical, chamber, jazz, opera and traditional Hungarian performances, and plenty of free events in Budapest in March.

If it's specifically jazz you're into, (and if a little March sunshine wouldn't go amiss), then the Cape Town Jazz Festival gives you top artists from Africa and around the world performing on five stages.

You'll come across the odd display of musical talent whilst celebrating March 17th's St Patrick's Day in Dublin, besides street theatre, a firework display and a huge parade - all most likely seen through a Guinness-induced haze from beneath a giant, green leprechaun hat...

The Japanese equivalent of a Spring festival of renewal is the Fire Festival of Aso town, during which bales of straw are set aflame and swung in complex patterns against the March night's sky to the beat of taiko drums.
