As a carefully restored 18th-century property, Riad El Mezouar represents an authentic luxury riad in Marrakech. Traditional local materials have been used throughout the boutique hotel with an eclectic collection of art and furniture, including many original pieces from Arabia and Asia. The grand salon makes an elegant statement upon entrance, with doors richly carved in cedar wood, an immense divan, wooden tables, stately armchairs, a fireplace and an intricate Tibetan tapestry.

Special mention must be made of the warm and friendly service - nothing is too much trouble and every guest is made to feel welcome and special at Riad El Mezouar. The charming French owners and Nadia, the delightful manageress, create a memorable and warm experience for anyone who stays at this luxury riad.

    The facilities

A large clay tiled courtyard and garden is resplendent with aromatic plants like jasmine, laurel, rosemary and lavender, as well as fragrant orange and grapefruit trees at this luxury riad. At the centre of the courtyard is a traditional green ceramic tiled pool, fed by a marble fountain.

In addition to the relaxing pool, the luxury riad also offers massage therapies and aqua-gym lessons. Flowing drapes slung across the Moorish archways of the large terrace make for a stylish lounge area, complemented further by the potted plants and panoramic view of the Medina and the Atlas mountains.

Riyad El Mezouar offers complimentary breakfast, soft drinks and afternoon tea. Also, delicious French and Oriental cuisine can be served either in the grand salon, the courtyard or the terrace. Riad El Mezouar also provides arabo-andalusian musicians as accompaniment to romantic candlelit dinners.

    The rooms

The five bedrooms of the luxury riad are each individually designed in a minimalist chic style, accented by traditional Moroccan elements. Spacious bathrooms offer deep tadelakt baths. Amenities include quality house linens, Annick Goutal designer toiletries, satellite TV, internet access and electric heating.
