It opened - fully restored and refurbished - as a luxury hotel in 1996. The hotel boasts a fabulous location - the San Marco Museum (with its frescoes by Beato Angelico) is only a five minute walk away; as is the Galleria dell'Accademia which houses Michelangelo's David. The Cathedral and Baptistry of San Giovanni are less than ten minutes away on foot, while the Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio are just five minutes further.
