This adventure will take you on journey through time visiting ancient ruins of civilizations long gone.
On your short stay in Mexico City spend your time at one of the five Aztec temples, Nacional. Fly south to discover the amazing university city of Oaxaca that is surrounded by ten thousand foot high peaks. Explore the Zapotec ruins at Monte Alban and Mitla where the culture goes back 2500 years. Next fly to the Yucatan Peninsula to tour the temples of Uxmal.
While in Uxmal you can take a day trip to visit the site of Mayan ruins in Dzibilchaltun where the memorial stones have given it the name of the “place where there is writing on the stones.” Travel to visit thousands of vibrantly pink flamingos in Celestun Reserve before finishing your holiday by seeing one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in Chichen Itza.
Day 1: Arrive in Mexico City
Days 2-4: Fly to Oaxaca. Excursions to Zapotec Ruins at Monte Alban and Mitla.
Days 5-7: Fly to Merida. Visit Uxmal, Merida, Dzibilchaltun, and Celestun Reserve.
Day 8: Drive to Chichen Itza. Explore Mayan sites.
Day 9: Fly home.
