Hike New Zealand
Join us in New Zealand with a mountain guide and spend 11 days hiking, rafting & kayaking in locations seldomly visited by normal travellers to...

Running parallel to Burgundy, but on the other side of the world, Central Otago is the southern most wine growing region on the planet and the only New Zealand region with a continental climate - with lots of daylight during the long cool, growing season and a hot summer which intensifies flavour. These conditions produce juicy Pinot Gris, deep coloured Pinot Noirs and perfectly ripened Rieslings and Gewurtztraminers.
Still a relatively new wine region this is a good place to get ahead of the crowds and try something none of your friends will have heard of. Of the growing number of local wineries (many coming here to avoid the inflated prices around Marlborough) some of the must visit cellar doors are Felton Road, Peregrine and Quartz Reef, but there are around 40 to choose from.
The area is surrounded by The Remarkables an aptly named rocky mountain range with snow capped massifs and plummeting gorges sloping down to meet the ordered lines of grape vines. Another big draw for the Central Otago region is it's proximity to trendy resort town, Queenstown - celebrated home of bungee jumping, skiing, jet boating and other adventure sports (though maybe best not done on the same day as your wine tastings!).
