The eastern Trade winds provide consistent winds to Cabarete all year round and combined with the warm water, creates great windsurfing conditions. Wind is best between July and August when the average speed is 13-22 knots. Cabarete also has a few good windsurfing schools and conditions mean that surfers can launch straight off the beach making it easy for beginners. Cabarete is also a very popular kitesurfing location.
