El Medano is one of the best place to windsurf in Tenerife, there is a cross shore wind and it's not as crowded as some of the more popular resorts. It also has swells averaging one metre, so it's better for experienced windsurfers. At one time windsurfing championship events were held here, however over recent years the increasing number of high rise buildings has lessened the force of the wind. So better views from the hotel windows but not as much action to see from them. El Medano is also popular for parasailing.
