Shiretoko National Park

Shiretoko National Park is one of Japan’s most remote regions only accessible by boat or on foot, so you probably won’t make it here unless you’re staying in Japan for a while but if you do come you’ll be astounded by Kamuiwakka-no-taki a hot water waterfall, part river water and part water from an underground sulphur hot springs.

Shiretoko also has a large bear population and is the southern most point from which to observe sea ice.
