Children squeal and climb all over everything. It's allowed, and this Science Museum seems to be one of the few places in Tokyo where children are able to be anything but well behaved little angels. It's all in the name of science – not like a social experiment on children's behaviour, but like an educational playground. The exhibits I could understand explained scientific concepts in interesting, creative ways – and it was clear at the same time that these kids were having fun – the magic partnership all these museums crave. But be warned: if you don't have kids you may want to skip it – first because it involves a lot of screaming and running around and secondly because you'll look like a paedophile and it could be hard to explain you good and scientific intentions in English.
