This needs to be a vast museum – inside it are full sized reconstructions of parts of other great buildings and not just the small parts, huge gates and gatehouses, walls, ornately carved Islamic arches, friezes and in pride of place, the museum’s namesake, the Pergamon Altar, a massive stone podium made by the 2nd Century Greeks. These massive works were excavated by German teams from Assur, Miletus, Babylon, Uruk and Egypt, the parts were then transported to Germany.
