In the tourist town of Bakau, Gambia, the Katchikali Crocodile pool, discovered hundreds of years ago by the natives is home to more than a hundred crocodiles. Considered a magical place, as are other crocodile pools’, bathing in the water is believed to cure infertility and bestow good fortune. Sacred rituals are occasionally held, with the drumming and dancing resulting in very atmospheric moments.
