Shoppers flock to Nanjing Road when they're in search of something nice - anything, really cause this baby's got it all. Your typical upscale shops are here, like Tiffanys, Mont Blanc and Dunhill but so are the less classy McDonalds and KFC. East Nanjing Road is where most of the shopping can be found - you'll know you're there because most of the 3.4 miles will be pedestrianized. It won't take long to find the fancy international hotels, multiple theaters, boutiques and large shopping malls, and you'll never lose sight of the next one. You can get all shopping done in one spot in some of these new malls and have some spectacular meals in the area's restaurants.
If you're shopping in China because you want something traditional, and not because you want a new Gucci handbag, then you're still in luck. There are over 100 little shops specializing in custom crafts such as silk goods, jade, embroidery, wool and clocks. The fun continues even after the sun goes down - open air bars, neon lights, street musicians and lots of people keep the party going.
