This huge natural Ozark cave in the Buffalo National River country was originally renovated and turned into a home in 1984 by the president of a tea company who was convinced of an impending holocaust and intended to use it as a bomb shelter. In 1987, after such a holocaust failed to materialise, his wife convinced him to sell the cave and after a brief stint as a nightclub, the cave was turned into a hotel catering mostly for weddings and family reunions, and is a unique wilderness retreat. All the walls in the cave are the original rock surfaces on which you can still see limestone drawings of animals and in the living room there is a natural indoor waterfall. On the Beckham Creek estate you can also go fishing, boating, hiking and play billiards or simply relax in the hot tub and admire the mountain views.
