‘The whigmen of the Tari Valley, Papua New Guinea’

I work on and off for travel agencies, finding unique and exclusive spots for their clients who´ve been there, done that and heard that. there´s plenty of these places on earth. A lot. The most recent I visited, a month ago, the Tari Valley in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea. It is a moust to visit!

The Huli people were discovered as late as in 1934 and it hasn´t been until the last 15 years that the outside world has started to make its way into the incredibly fertile valley. The Hulis are warriors. They are short, sturdy and have a sort of primitive fire, savageness and pride reminding of the Masai. Implicating that they see themselves as being apparently superior to other nations. In many ways they still live the life of a Stone Age people, hidden in the highlands. I must say that it is one of the most fantastic locations I have ever visited in my 25 years as an explorer to all the unknown corners of the world.
