Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak

Located near Seutopolis, the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak is decorated with murals depicting burial rituals and Thracian culture and day to day life. This UNESCO World Heritage site dates back to the end of the 4th century B.C. The tomb’s murals are the best preserved art pieces of the Hellenistic period in Bulgaria but the bad news is they’re not open to the public. Only scholars who are given permission to view the tomb are allowed in, but there is a replica nearby that attracts many visitors.
