The mausoleum of Nuruddin Salim Jahangir, Mughal Emperor between 1605 and 1627, has been kept in a careful state of repair. Set against a peaceful backdrop of gardens, this long low covered building still houses Jahangir’s bones in a raised, delicately carved stone plinth like tomb. Jahangir chose this as his final resting place because of the beautiful gardens that were on this spot during his reign, it was supposedly one of his favourite places. Peace now reigns here between the intricately designed mosaics on the roof and graceful minarets and the exquisite tile work of the floor. Taking the stairs up to the top of one of the minarets will give you a wonderful view of the whole gardens. Images of Jahangir's Mausoleum from TravelPak
