Reting Monastery has been built in a juniper forest, high into the mountains in central Tibet. After being partly destroyed it has now been partly rebuilt. The main temple has a beautiful gilded roof. Reting is still inhabited by monks and is a popular point along the pilgrims route as the peaceful surrounds of a sprawling green valley make it a relaxing rest spot and place to camp.
