Not as busy as a lot of the well known spots along this part of South Africa’s coast, Victoria Bay you’re still best off waiting for a weekday if you can, locals are all out on the weekend and it can get hectic, but if you catch them first thing on a quiet Monday out of season say you’re much more likely to get space. Avoid the peak, the waves here are supposed to be good out of season. The wave is a longish right hand break. All the guides say it’s pretty consistent and it was when I was there last. This stars up when it’s still dark which may be why it keeps some of the worst party crowds out.
