‘Stay in Tignes if you can't afford Val d'Isere prices’

Val d'Isere - Espace Killy is no doubt one of the best ski areas in France but it's expensive to stay there and absolutely full of Brits so horrendous during the UK school holidays. ‘Val D'Isére’

Although increasingly expensive, Val D'Isére has much to offer for advanced skiers, with an array of off-piste skiing easily accessible through the lift system. The vast extent of ski areas within the resort ensures intermediates are also very well served in this lively resort. The resorts popularity amongst the British has seen it lose some of its charm, whilst the resort becomes very busy at holiday times, which can result in overcrowding. Beginners may struggle to cope on some of the under classified routes, though the nursery slopes and impressive ski school offer ample opportunity for novices to hone their skills. Recent investment in the lift system has seen queues reduce markedly, whilst the quality of mountain restaurants has recently seen much needed improvement. The resort offers a lively nightlife, with a wide choice of bars and clubs.
