The River Club

See more Lodges and Ranches. Near to Livingstone (17.78 km) in Zimbabwe.

The River Club Located upstream from Victoria Falls, The River Club has the most attractive settings of all of the lodges on the banks of the Zambezi. Edwardian in style and with immaculate private gardens, the River Club oozes character from the moment you arrive: this is a place you want to return to again and again.

Set up high on the escarpment, the lodge looks out over one of the widest stretches of the Zambezi and onto the bush beyond. The charm is in the sheer beauty of this setting offering a calm, tranquil retreat away from the hustle of Victoria Falls in one of the most relaxed and friendly atmospheres that you will find. With one of the most attractive infinity pools in all of Africa this is the perfect place to start or end your safari from.

The 10 luxury chalets are spread around the gardens offering privacy and intimacy to every guest with fantastic views through their open fronts dropping down and across the river below. All rooms are en-suite and some have the opportunity for guests to lie in the bath and admire the view. The main dining room and lounge area make up the main communal area: a well appointed Edwardian style house with an impressive library and veranda giving guests the perfect opportunity to wind away an afternoon in complete relaxation. There is even a well mown croquet lawn for the more adventurous, gin soaked few.

Providing the perfect rest bite at the start or end of a safari, The River Club grows on you the longer you stay there, it is without doubt a highlight of everyone’s trip. Only 18kms from Victoria Falls, the lodge is close enough to satisfy even the most adventurous adrenalin junky but also far enough away to really appreciate the calm of this mighty river.
