This reserve fits into the triangle of land between the Maranon and Ucayali Rivers at the northern most end of the Amazon River. River basins, over 80 lakes, dense rainforests and the creatures that inhabit them are the main sights. Some of the big name inhabitants are the grey and pink dolphins, Giant River Turtles, jaguars, Spider monkeys, caimans and manatees. You can only reach the reserve by private boat but it has around 50,000 inhabitants, mostly living in villages along the edge of the reserve.
