The Plaza Fabini situated in the Centro district of Montevideo is widely considered to be the most beautiful park in Uruguay’s capital. The most famous features of this park are the fountains and a sculpture called ‘El Entrevero’, meaning The Confusion or Disorder, and this leads to the park often being referred to as the Plaza Del Entrevero. The Plaza also boasts a café area and a playground, ideal for children of all ages. The park is beautifully lit at night and there are often well-armed police patrolling this area and the rest of the city both at night and during the day, making it remarkably safe. Indeed, Montevideo is considered to be one of the safest cities in South America, although it is still advised that you keep all personal belongings safe and don’t carry around large amounts of cash or valuables.
