Once thought to be extinct because of its shy nature, the Lammergeyer, or Bearded Vulture as they’re also known, are lured, for your viewing pleasure, to this remote small stone building in the mountains to feed on animal carcasses.
Lammergeyer are one of the smartest breed of vultures, and are known for their habit of cracking the marrow out of bones by dropping them from a great height.
As well as Lammergeyer, other vultures, eagles and birds of prey will join in the meal. It’s essential to book your place at the hide in advance; it’s only open between May and September.
