‘East African Wildebeest Migration’
Each year, over a million wildebeest (along with a few thousand zebra and gazelle) migrate in a circle over 1,800 miles of African terrain in search of food and on the run from their enemies the cheetah, leopard, and hyena. The migration is never-ending, starting at birth for the calf and only stops when the wildebeest die.
The time of your visit dictates where in Africa you stay, whether it be the immense plans of the Serengeti in Tanzania or to the bountiful grasses of Masai Mara in Kenya. Heavy rains in April in May make this the off season for wildlife viewing as roads are impassable.
Lodges and campgrounds can be found all along the migration path.
