If you’re a bird watcher who likes to cross birds you’ve seen off your list, then Birdworld, Kuranda is the place to visit. 75 different species of bird are housed in this vast multi ecosystem aviary and there are over 500 birds in all.
Though not as good as spotting them in the wild the birds are free flying so you have to keep your eyes open to meet them all. Because of its size Birdworld houses larger birds than most aviaries are able to - so there are storks and herons and black swans, wandering through lakes and waterfalls as well as their smaller cousins the kookaburras, parakeets and cockatoos in the tree canopies.
This is an excellent place to bring children.
