The Rijksmuseum (currently undergoing massive renovation, due to reopen in 2008), in its handsome neo-Renaissance brick building, is best known for paintings from the Golden Age of Dutch art. Masterpieces include Rembrandt's The Night Watch and works by Vermeer, Van Ruisdael, van Heemskerck, Frans Hals and Jan Steen. The museum also has sections devoted to prints, sculpture, furniture including exquisite dolls houses, glass, porcelain and Asiatic art.
