Berlin's 1876 Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery), completely restored in 2001, represents 19th-century painting and sculpture. The collection includes fine examples of French and German Impressionists as well as masterpieces from the romantic and classical movements. Highlights include works by Adolph von Menzel, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Paul Cezanne and sculptures by August Rodin, Anselm Feuerbach, Arnold Bocklin, Hans von Marees, Max Liebermann and Louis Corinth.
