The highest point of North America is to be found in Alaska, close to the Polar Circle. With 6192m/20,320ft it is a massive block of rock and ice sticking out of the surrounding fields. The normal route is not technical, but cold and as you have to carry food for 3 weeks, you need to be strong, but you will be rewarded by amazing views. Climbed in May-June, the route contains many crevasses and experience in icy conditions and with crevasse rescues are needed. Guided climbs available through licensed operators.
