The Charminar is the monumental centerpiece of the city of Hyderabad. Its four minarets, each nearly 160 feet tall, tower over the bustling market below. During the day it is open to the public as a site for prayer, and at night the intricately carved spirals and granite facades seem to glow, artfully lit up.
