Santa Fe- Farmer’s Market

See more Markets. See best of Santa Fe in United States.

This market is the champion for the cause of farmers all over the north of New Mexico. The market stipulates that all produce must be sold by the person who produces it and so every Saturday morning visitors to the market come face to face with the people who grow, prepare and cook the food that they are buying. The vegetables, fruits, cheeses, herbs, flowers, salsas, breads and ciders are all fresh and colourful and are all grown and produced in north New Mexico. The market also offers houseplants, natural handmade soaps and lotions, compost and even worms. But the best thing about the market is the chance to wander around with a breakfast burrito and a coffee, and enjoy the convivial chatter with the farmers and their families, learning about what you are buying directly from the source. If you really enjoyed yourself you can pick up one of the pieces of commemorative clothing that the market sells (hats and t-shirts) although they are certainly not mandatory.
