Josep Jujol helped Gaudi design Casa Batilo, this extraordinary and controversial building. Its local name is "Casa Dels Ossos" ("House of Bones"), due to its slightly haunting, skeletal qualities. It is likely that the designers chose to avoid straight lines altogether. Much of the facade is decorated with a mosaic made of broken ceramic tiles that starts in shades of golden orange moving into greenish blues. The roof is arched and has been compared a dragon or dinosaur's back. A common theory is that the rounded feature to the left of centre, stopping at the top in a turret and cross, represents the sword of St. George (patron saint of Catalonia), plunged into the back of the dragon.
