Information
Art legend has it that Monet fell in love at first sight with the village of Giverny when he saw it from a train window on route to Paris. In 1883 he moved to the village, bought a house and began to plant his gardens. In his letters, Monet continued to express his increasing affection for Giverny. It remained his home until he died in 1926. Source: Monet's Garden at Giverny
