Notting Hill (Dir: Richard Curtis, 1999). 280 Westbourne Park Road, Notting Hill, London, England. This is the location of William Thacker’s (Hugh Grant’s) famous blue door and for once what lies behind it was grander than what you see on screen (it was actually the screenwriters house - sorry converted abbey.). William’s travel bookshop was based on one at 13 Blenheim Cresent, ’The Travel Bookshop’, but was actually filmed around the corner at 142 Portobello Road which is now an antique shop. 'Coffee Shop', where William gets the coffee (No!) at the beginning of the film - is a coffee shop (No!) on Westbourne Park Road. The park William and Anna break into is Rosemead Gardens, Rosemead Road, W11, but don’t even think about it - the fence is high and spikey.
